My work celebrates the functional object, its history and associations.
Each piece of my hand-produced porcelain is intended to delight
the eye, to please the touch and to satisfy the owner through
time.I
make a full range of tableware, accessories and accept commissions
on a regular basis. I designed and developed the glaze from
the highest quality materials to be food safe, not mark with
cutlery use and resist the corrosive action of the dishwasher.

From a young child, I was a maker
of things. Growing up with a mother who painted and had her
studio at home gave me the opportunity to explore many different
forms of art, but it was only when I touched clay as a young
adult that I discovered the medium that continues to enrapture
me to this day!

I
work with hard, durable materials, which can be literally and
figuratively inserted into man-made or natural spaces. Pieces
are designed to have a presence, as if to say, "Look at
me"; they serve as markers or signposts of sorts. Their
weight and 'permanence' contradict all that is nomadic, portable
or ephemeral in life. They compel the viewer to stop, observe
and investigate.
