metal
art furniture & home decor
by
John and Heather Zondervan
As the name
implies, this small progressive company near Guelph, Ontario,
is part of the changing face of metal art. Based on the philosophy
of minimalism, the work has a distinctive style, featuring clean
lines, and, in the case of the indoor designs, a consistant
ground metal finish.
Metallic
Evolution is dedicated to the pursuit of beauty in function,
and to creating metal objects that will enhance daily life.

wire
sculpture
My
sculpture is mainly composed of air. I use bits of wire only
to define that part of air to which I want to draw my audience’s
attention…minimal visual cues to assist the mind to define
space, or enclose volume. Sometimes no more than a simple gesture,
my work can consist of a strand or two, or be a highly detailed
study consisting of many pieces of wire. |

My
artwork is eclectic in nature. From an early age I was drawn
to search out natural elements, these in turn often dictated
the direction my creativity would move in. Growing up in the
Kawarthas, lakes and woodlands have naturally influenced my
work. Many of my pieces reflect the landscape that is so much
a part of our Canadian heritage.
In the processing and finishing of my metal work , it's important
to me that I present a unique work of art that is recognized
for its' hand worked elements. Although predominantly a metal
artist, I also paint.
